I dont know how to say this
But if the family at this time sees this it would be very hurtful to them
Let some time go bye and then this might be worth talking about
Let the family have there time now....

What about some sort of memorial garden, or a plant/tree/bush suggested by the family in his honor? Could it be planted somewhere at Town Hall?

I'm sure many of you know that Dennis Smith, the chairman of our planing board, was struck down recently with in operable brain cancer. I understand that he is in hospice care in Boston. His family has asked that his friends and acquaintances not try to contact them during this time.

Dennis was very active in this town over the 26 or more years he lived here and he was also a good guy. Many of us are hit hard by this and would like to somehow celebrate Dennis' life and to heal our own grief. I'd like to put this out on one of the booths at the 236 Diner to see what you all have to say and what ideas you all might have as a fitting tribute to a good mand and a good citizen. I'd love to see something named in his honor (if we ever get a new library, that would be a good place for a memorial as Dennis really wanted to see South Berwick get a new library). I'd also love to be at a gathering of those who knew Dennis - maybe not an Irish wake but at least a public forum to share our thoughts.

Any ideas?
