Maybe my math is a little fuzzy, but if 2/5ths of the proposed increase was removed from the budget, and the original increase would have been $220.00 for a $250,000 house, wouldn’t the reduction be around $70.00 instead of $45.00?
2/5ths of 220 is approximately $70.00
That may not seem like much, but that is only the town’s portion of the budget.
The schools portion be much more of an increase if that budget goes thorugh unchanged.
