Out & About: York Farmers’ Market
Each Saturday and, new this year, Tuesday afternoon, the York Farmers’ Market provides a way to buy from local food and craft producers. The market is held every Saturday through October 11 from 9 AM to 1 PM and on Tuesdays from July 1 through September 9 from 2 PM to 6 PM in the lot behind the York Chamber Visitor’s Center at its location on Route One in York across from the entrance to I-95.
You’ll find an assortment of food, baked goods, handmade products, organically grown produce and much more. Go on Tuesdays and you’ll see two South Berwick residents.
Buddha’s Burning Buns, owned by South Berwick resident Jane Adams offers cookies, muffins, breads, granola & other assorted baked goods. You can also find Jane’s products at Nature’s Way Market.

South Berwick resident Hope Murphy’s booth, fuZing!, showcases her unique fused glass jewelry. These one of a kind pieces shimmer with color and pattern.

Hi,
I’ve been transplanting things and I was wondering, Does South Berwick have a Garden Club? I would like to find people who are interested in trading perennials. I have a variety of day lillies, hostas, lilly of the valley and bleeding hearts that I would like to trade. If anyone has the old fashioned phlox (the tall ones), and would part with some, I would like to either buy some or trade other perennials for them.
Thanks for any information on either the Garden Club, or neighbors who would like to trade perennials.

We are raising worms for composting and fishing. These worms are red Wrigglers and Euro nightcrawlers. Both are very good for composting and fishing. The Euro nightcrawler is smaller than the Canadian nightcrawler, They can be used in saltwater and require no refrigeration

South Berwick does have a very small (but not very well-known) Garden Club, formed a few years ago to help maintain some of the islands around the post office. Most meetings are working meetings of the garden glove (vs. white gloves and tea) nature. A business meeting to brainstorm ways to ‘grow’ the club will be held in the near future. Anyone who is interested is invited to respond.
P.S. I do have some of the old-fashioned tall phlox and would be willing to make a trade.

Hi Zelda,
Should I show you some photos of what I have for trade? Which plants are you interested in? I could post them on line and leave a link.
How do I contact the members of the garden club?
