
a dragonfly. I am happy my garden is the host to these guys since they are voracious predators of mosquitoes.

Steve Mirick is a local Odonatologist, and could identify this one, I’m sure. I have asked him for a picture of him tracking dragonflies with his net, but for some reason I haven’t heard back from him.

A friend tells me this is a Spangled Skimmer, a dragon fly only found in coastal areas.
