Why are you running for this position?

I served 3 terms in the Maine House on the Education Committee representing the people of York.  I then was elected to the Maine Senate representing District 1 .  I made the decision not to run the last term due to the death of my son and medical problems of my husband. Those issues have been resolved and I am eager to serve District 1 again.

What do you see as the biggest challenges and opportunities facing Senate District 1?

It is hard to say what the challenges and opportunities facing District 1 due to the economic issues facing the country as a whole and the energy problems.  I believe that I need to go to Augusta prepared to deal with many problems.  School  consolidation and taxes are two of the biggest issues for District 1.

If you are elected, what priorities will you have for your term in office?

My priorities for District 1 is to be a voice for District 1 and to  make sure that their voices and concerns are heard on every vote.

What strengths, skills, and qualifications would you bring to the office?

My strength is my commitment to the people of District 1  and my history of that commitment of the 8 years in state government.
