Seven Marshwood High School Concert Band students, along with 12 members of the chorus, were recently selected to perform in the Maine District One Honors Music Festival.
Band members selected were Kayla Burke, Courtney Schoff, Emma O’Brien, Chad Dyer, Lena Alleva, Tim Jefferson, and Erin Carter.
Representing the chorus will be Alison Rollins, Sidney Doran, Cara Evans, Tess Limaggio, Laura Roy, Chelsea Martel, Dani Main, Noelle Plourde, Taygra Longstaff, Courtney Thomas, Zane Peterson, and Michael Aldrich
Maine District One Honors Music Festival selects the top musicians from the district to perform in a festival concert featuring concert band, orchestra, jazz band, and chorus. Students are chosen based on a graded live audition.
This year’s festival will take place on January 24, 2009 at Noble High School.
I would like to congratulate these athletes, playing an instrument and practicing hours on end to achieve any kind of proficiency needs to be commended. the ground stone for my know my career was laid in High
School.
