Lots of ways to support your local community this weekend:
Check out the Open Studios at Salmon Falls Mills. It’s open from 10-5 on Saturday and Sunday and will be teeming with local artists and artisans, including a number of South Berwickians. Stop in my studio # 452 to say hi. Joining me from South Berwick are Jane Adams, owner of Buddha’s Burning Buns (pictured right), offering her fabulous homemade granola and dry mixes and Nora Irvine, the creator and owner of Journey Gift Bags with her environmentally smart and elegant fabric gift bags.
While you are over Rollinsford way you can also check out the many businesses that are springing up in the area, as well as the old stand bys, including Monkey Business Bakery, Fogarty’s, the Black Bean, Salmon Falls Deli, The Figtree Cafe, White Heron Teas and more.
When you are there be sure to stop in and check out Doodlebugz Studio, opened recently by South Berwick resident Carin Sarzynski (pictured left). She has created a colorful and inspiring space on Front Street where you can paint your own pottery and learn and practice glass fusing. Check out her many programs for children, families, and adults, all are great ways to make your own holiday gifts and to celebrate your own creativity.
It’s also the last weekend for the SAD 35 Musical A Christmas Carol at the Wesley E. Kennedy Performing Arts Center at Marshwood High School. There are two performances today:
Saturday, November 22 @ 2 pm (matinee) & 7:00 pm.
