The MSAD Board of Directors has published their FY 2010 Budget Timeline on their web page. This year’s process allows more and earlier opportunities for public input in the process (marked in red). Mark your calendars and begin doing your homework!

Dec 3 (Wed) S/B Budget Workshop – Establish Timeline/Parameters
Dec 19 (Fri) Principals/Directors submit budget worksheets, new program requests, facility requests, field trip requests
Jan 7 (Wed) Public Input for Budget Priorities
Jan 21 (Wed) Public Input for Budget Priorities
Feb 25 (Wed) Superintendent Budget to S/B
Mar 14 (Sat) S/B Budget Workshop with Admin Staff
April 1 (Wed) S/B Budget Workshop
April 15 (Wed) S/B Public Input on Budget
May 6 (Wed) S/B Public Input on Budget – S/B approve budget
May 8 (Fri) S/B sign Budget Warrant (Superintendent’s Office)
May 20 (Wed) Consolidated Warrant & Ballots to Town Clerks (at least 7 days prior to Budget Meeting)
May 20 (Fri) Budget mailed to voters (optional)
Jun 2 (Tue) District Budget Meeting (No more than 10 calendar days prior to referendum)
June 9 (Tue) Budget Referendum (Single yes/no question plus adult ed, capital reserve, and expend other non-local funds raised)
