Go to the Library; Save energy and money

watt-meter_feb-09.jpgSouth Berwick residents can now borrow an electricity usage monitor from the South Berwick Public Library to determine their electricity usage and identify how much individual home appliances, such as computers, stoves, water heaters, etc., cost to run or just have plugged in.

The Friends of the South Berwick Public Library have donated two “Kill-A-Watt” electricity usage monitors to the Library to supplement those recently received from Efficiency Maine.  The monitors were provided with a substantial discount by Seacoast Energy Alternatives in Dover, NH. These monitors are easy to use and are  available to library patrons to borrow at no cost for a one week period.

The Friends have also donated a “Cool Kit” provided by the local group affiliated with Maine Partners for Cool Communities.  In this kit, which can be used within the Library only, you will find solutions and services addressing various issues concerning global warming.  Topics covered include energy efficiency, transportation, renewable energy, and waste management.  Ways to minimize your impact on the environment, both locally and globally, are presented. Photocopying services are available for a nominal fee.

Please stop by the South Berwick Public Library and see what is available to help you save energy, money, and the environment.

The Library is open Mondays and Wednesdays 1 to 8 PM; Tuesdays and Thursdays 10 AM to 5 PM; Fridays 1 to 5 PM; and, Saturdays from 9 AM to 12:45 PM.

For more information or to join the Friends call the Library at 207-384-3308.
