Today: America’s Kitchens Book Talk and Signing

Celebrate Historic New England’s newest publication, America’s Kitchens, with a free book talk and signing August 14 at 6:30 p.m.  in the Hamilton House Garden Cottage.

Join Historic New England curator Nancy Carlisle for a fascinating look at the role of the kitchen in times past and present.  Carlisle, co-author of America’s Kitchens, will illustrate her talk with historic drawings, photographs, and images of ephemera from Historic New England’s collections.  The America’s Kitchens book is part of Historic New England’s Year of the Kitchen. Through special programs, house tours, exhibitions, and more, discover the technological and social changes that have taken place in the kitchen and why, for so many of us, this room still symbolizes warmth and comfort.  Visit www.AmericasKitchens.org for a complete listing programs and events throughout the region.

After the talk, enjoy light refreshments and the beautiful garden setting at this unique evening program.  Hamilton House is located at 40 Vaughan’s Lane, South Berwick.  Copies of the books will be available for purchase at the event.  For more information call the South Berwick office of Historic New England at 207-384-2454 or visit www.AmericasKitchens.org.
