Here is Ms. Brisson’s response to the questions posed by the236diner:

My name is Nelly P. Brisson and I have been a resident of South Berwick since 1985.  I was born and raised in the Philippines and through marriage, have strong local family ties.  We have 4 children and 5 grandchildren.  My interests include cooking and playing guitar.

The biggest challenges facing our town include managing a growing traffic problem, expanding recreation oppurtunities for all in the community and supporting and promoting local business in our town.

If elected I intend to look to expand business opportunities in town, find a way to manage the increased flow of traffic through routes 4 and 236, and to increase the efficiency of the services provided with not much increase of our taxes.

I feel that I have the skills and aptitude to work cooperatively with other council members, have the determination to see plans to their completion and am very interested in listening to the voice of other citizens.

I would like to see South Berwick keep its small town feel, maintain the strength of our school system, develop recreational resources and increase the visibility and effectiveness of our public safety systems.
