The York County Shelter in Alfred is expecting about 900 families to request food boxes for Thanksgiving this year. A local group is working on raising money to help pay for the turkeys that will be included in the food boxes.
People caring to help with this effort may write a check to The York County Shelter Programs and mail it to South Berwick resident Sandy Agrafiotis who is managing this effort. Her address is 548 Emery’s Bridge Road.
